Aster Group secures planning approval for Devizes development

Ethical housing developer Aster Group has had plans approved for a new 38-home development in Devizes, Wiltshire.

The 87,000 sq ft scheme will expand Aster’s portfolio of land-led developments by making use of a brownfield site, originally part of Le Marchant Barracks, with Aster having already exchanged contracts with Devizes-based developer Gaiger Brothers.

The development in Hambleton Avenue will offer a range of one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes with 31 allocated for shared ownership and seven for affordable rent.

Construction is set to begin this summer, with the scheme expected to be completed by the end of 2018.

Hambleton Avenue is Aster’s latest land-led development as part of its commitment to invest £500m into housebuilding over the next five years. It follows the announcement that the developer built a record 825 new homes in 2016 – its best year yet.
