Local community to shape plans for new homes in Walton
Ethical developer and landlord Aster Group has recently exchanged contracts on a 50,000 sq ft site in Walton, Somerset.
Situated off Mildred Road, Main Street, the site is suited to residential development and Aster will deliver a mixture of affordable two and three-bedroom homes for local residents.
Aster is inviting members of the community to a public exhibition on Tuesday 8 August between 3.00pm and 7.00pm at Walton Village Hall, to view the development proposals and provide feedback.
Following feedback from the public, plans will be drawn up and submitted to Mendip District Council as part of the planning application.
Amanda Williams, group development director at Aster Group, said: “We’ve committed to £1.5 billion’s worth of investment into building new homes across the south of England over the next seven years – many of which will be genuinely affordable for the large proportion of buyers and renters currently priced out of the private market.
“As an employer of approximately 300 people in Somerset and over 6,000 customers in the county we are committed to tackling the housing crisis by increasing supply whilst at the same time creating sustainable and strong communities.”
