Building work begins on 80 affordable homes in Totton

Work has begun to build 80 new affordable homes ready for families to move into in Totton, Southampton.

Nestled on the edge of the New Forest, the new homes will be available for local residents and poeple with a strong connection to the area.

The homes will be a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom houses along with a small collection of one and two-bedroom flats. Half the homes are for sale through the shared ownership scheme and the remaining half will be rented to families.

If you want to get onto the property ladder, shared ownership might be for you. It allows you to buy a share of a property and pay rent on the remaining proportion. This means your deposit is smaller and if you want to, you can buy more shares in your home (known as staircasing), and often even buy your home outright.
