COVID-19 service changes for our Independent Living Schemes

We know that COVID-19 restrictions in place at our Independent Living Schemes have affected many customers over the last year. As restrictions continue to ease and in line with the government’s national road map out of lockdown, we’re making some changes to make sure you can enjoy your home in a safe way once again.

Hair salons in our buildings have now reopened for residents to use. Our communal area refurbishment projects will soon restart, and we’ll share more details if this affects you.

From 17 May the rule of six will be lifted for meeting people outside, and residents can once again meet others in our open communal gardens. Independent Living Officers will start to visit you at home over the next few weeks and we’ll be in touch with customers to make sure your fire risk assessments and home visits are complete and up to date.

We understand communal lounges and dining areas are important spaces in our schemes. If government restrictions continue to ease and in line with all guidance, communal areas will reopen from June 21. Guest rooms will also open from 21 June.

Any changes made by the government to keep restrictions in place for longer may impact our plans, and we’ll let you know if this happens. Please be reassured that we’ll only make changes if they are assessed as safe to do so.

In the meantime, thank you for following government guidance, keeping at least two metres from our colleagues as they work in your neighbourhood and for continuing to observe all COVID-19 guidelines in communal areas.
