Local children’s playground refurbished using recycled washing machines

We’ve recently transformed a play park in Somerset for children living at one of our estates to enjoy.

We invested £50,000 to create the new play area which features an environmentally friendly floor made of recycled plastic from the parts of old washing machines.

The park is fully accessible and features popular equipment like a swing and trampoline, as well as a wheelchair friendly roundabout and seating area. New fencing surrounds the park to keep the children safe when playing.

This neighbourhood enhancement is part of our work to invest over £1.2m in over 70 neighbourhood enhancement projects across our communities during 2022/23.
