Simple holiday season checks around the home
Here are some top tips to help keep you and your family well over the summer months.
- After enjoying a BBQ, avoid the ground underneath the BBQ or a firepit because it can stay hot enough to cause a serious burn for a long time afterwards
- If you're going to be away from your home for longer than a week, ask someone to turn all your taps and showers on and run for three minutes. If you can't do this, you can also turn all hot taps and showers on at maximum temperature and all cold taps on and run for five minutes when you get back
- Keep chemicals like weed killer, fertiliser and garden tools locked away
- Tie up looped blind cords and chains well out of the reach of small children, using a cleat, cord tidy or tensioner.
