Solar panels installations

Reducing carbon emissions and helping combat fuel poverty is a key priority across our communities.  We’re working hard towards our goal to be net zero carbon by 2050.

We’ve recently completed a mini solar panel pilot targeting off-mains gas homes in rural Dorset.

The small Solar PV pilot focussed on a small number of homes and one extra care scheme.

These new solar systems will provide free electricity to customers helping reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions. These systems will also reduce our dependence on drawing energy from the national grid and support the use of renewable energy in our homes.

The project was funded with help from our own internal joint venture Aster Solar and external grant funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) via Low Carbon Dorset:  www.lowcarbondorset.org.uk/
