Supporting our local communities
Colleagues from our Hampshire office recently joined forces with a number of our contractors and suppliers to refurbish parts of Icknield School in Andover, which supports children and young people with severe learning difficulties.
29 colleagues volunteered their time over five weeks to complete the job which involved replacing the kitchen units and flooring, upgrading the toilets, knocking down walls and plastering the sensory room to create a much bigger room for the children.
The team also removed trees; painted handrails, gates and a summer house; and laid wheelchair accessible paths and play areas so that the children can play safely outside.
Sean Connon, Headmaster at Icknield School, said: “The whole centre has been transformed. It was an amazing job from start to finish and I cannot thank the people involved enough.
“What an amazing group of people, this shows that public spirit and good will is still alive and well, and when teams come together amazing things can be achieved."
