Volunteer support during the pandemic

Over the last few months our colleagues have volunteered in different ways to offer support during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

While some have taken part in our befriending service, Aster Connect, others have volunteered their time at NHS track and trace centres set up in our communities.

Colleagues have also volunteered to help as parking marshals and carried out roles directing patients receiving the vaccine at a vaccination centre.

We’re now working with charity Reengage to launch our refreshed befriending service, Aster Connect Reengage, by matching customers with vulnerabilities to volunteers to provide a regular friendly voice at the end of the phone.

We continue to work in our communities to support these services and help people with vulnerabilities.
