New raised bed for residents of Extra Care scheme
Housing association Aster Group recently made improvements to its Hibberd Court Extra Care scheme in Bournemouth, by clearing the existing raised bed for residents.
Aster’s Independent Living team joined forces with grounds maintenance company Ground Control to remove shrubbery and create an area to plant flowers with 360 degree access so a number of people can work at the same time and to make best use of the space.
Elisabetta Repossi, independent living officer for Aster Group said: “Residents at Hibbered Court were keen to have an area in the garden where they could plant flowers and spend time socialising.
“They are delighted with the work that has been carried out and plan to grow a mixture of flowers which will be enjoyed by all.”
Jim Edwards, Regional Director of Ground Control said: “We’ve held a long relationship with Aster providing grounds maintenance in the south of England, so naturally we were pleased to support them with these improvements.
“I really enjoyed the day transforming the area which is now ready for planting, and I’m looking forward to visiting later in the year to see how it is coming along.”
